Laurie Kilmartin Performs Stand Up on Conan
Laurie Kilmartin had a tremendous set on Conan on Thursday night. We wrote about Laurie earlier this year after she released a groundbreaking stand up special with Seeso in late December. Her special stood out from the pack in both content and format. 45 Jokes About My Dead Dad was a forty minute stand up special about dealing with the very painful loss of Laurie’s dad to cancer, and it was wickedly funny, touching and life-affirming and included a brilliantly edited documentary about Laurie’s decision to live tweet the end of her dad’s life. The album version of the hour special just came out this week- you can get yourself a copy of it wherever albums are sold or downloaded.
In her Conan set, Laurie doesn’t bring up her dad, she talks more about her son, and she explains how she has fully committed to the “sink or swim” philosophy of teaching.
