Pete Davidson Happy and Sober for the First Time in 8 Years
Today on Instagram, Pete Davidson explained his absence from social media recently, letting his fans know that he’s happy and sober. He says it’s the first time in eight years that he can say that and credits it with being with a great girl, and having great friends to get him to a good place. “I’ll always be here for you guys, I promise,” he told his fans. “Remember to never give up hope because sometimes that’s all we got.” He thanked everyone for all the love and support.

Early in 2016, during a set at Gotham Comedy Club, Davidson talked on stage about spending his vacation time in rehab, hoping to cut back on smoking pot, something you’ll also hear him talk about in his recent Comedy Central special, SMD. But then in September, he told High Times magazine that he used marijuana to help manage his Crohn’s disease.
Davidson, who joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in September 2014 and trended on Twitter during his first appearance on the show, has been dating Cazzie David, daughter of comedy superstar Larry David, since sometime in early 2016.
