More Drunk History Coming to Comedy Central

One of the original crossroads for nerdiness and comedy will live to see another season; Comedy Central has renewed “Drunk History” for a fifth season. The ridiculously star studded, liquor-drenched half-reenactment and half-real time drinking session will continue to pull talents from all areas of entertainment, television, music and film. The show is one of a few “Funny or Die” web series to evolve into a TV show, with IFC’s upcoming Hank Azaria-lead comedy “Brockmire” also belonging to that category. With the President of Comedy Central avidly behind another season, co-creator Derek Waters stated, “So excited and grateful to do a fifth season. Oh what a ride it’s been! Thank you for driving me home.”

Last season ended with a literal bang as Aubrey Plaza and Alia Shawkat reenacted Lin-Manuel Miranda’s narration of the life and death of Alexander Hamilton as Aaron Burr and Hamilton, respectively. Executive produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay with Gary Sanchez Productions, the past four seasons have included awesome, inebriated educational re-tellings by “Unique Sweets” co-stars Georgia Hardstark and Alie Ward, “Rick & Morty” co-creator Dan Harmon, “Parks & Rec” and “The Kroll Show” talent Jenny Slate and so many others. That’s completely overlooking the talent comprising the cast of reenactments, which is also insane (Tony Hale is just a regular!?). Another season is just really, really good news for everyone.
