“Darius” From Atlanta Crashes Silicon Valley Win at Critics Choice Awards
When Christian Slater and Leslie Mann announced Silicon Valley as the winner of Best Comedy Series at the Critics Choice Awards Sunday night, Atlanta star Lakeith Stanfield decided to pull a Kanye and go on stage before Silicon Valley executive producer Tom Lasally could grab his award.
Instead of making a statement of how great he thought Atlanta was, Stanfield said “I want to thank everybody for honoring us in this way, we worked very hard on Silicon Valley and here we are. Thank you.” Tom Lassally simply said, “no idea who that was.”
Maybe he thought this is how you go about getting to date a Kardashian.
It was a fitting maneuver for a night full of weirdness as T.J. Miller once again proved himself to be the most physical, most surprising, and most slapstick inspired award show host. Sunday night, Miller did everything short of shoot himself out of cannon to entertain audiences watching the Critics Choice Awards– oh wait, he did that too. Watch the clip below.
