Who is Hosting SNL Tonight: September 3, 2016
Saturday Night Live is still enjoying their summer hiatus, so they are not live tonight, but NBC will be rerunning an episode from season 41 tonight. Ryan Gosling will be hosting the re-run episode airing tonight on NBC at 11:30pm in the East.
There were some great moments in this episode including a Natural Born Killers-esque sketch with Gosling and Vanessa Bayer playing new neighbors who stand out at a Christmas party when they hear Santa’s coming, and there’s a fantastic Wizard of Oz themed sketch as the cast takes us to East Oz. This episode also arguably had the best sketch of the entire season. The Close Encounter sketch with Kate McKinnon, Gosling, Cecily Strong, Bobby Moynihan and Aidy Bryant was so funny, Gosling couldn’t hold it together, laughing for an extended break, and of course that became contagious, because you can catch Bobby and Aidy break next and by the end of the sketch, everyone is giggling into their hands, turning their heads to hide the laugh and enjoying the moment. McKinnon was in top form as one of three Americans who is being questioned after being abducted by aliens, only she had a very different experience from the other two abductees played by Gosling and Cecily Strong. While the other two had spiritually beautiful experiences, Kate’s character had her knockers batted around, and her ku-ku investigated.
