Media outlets are reporting that Jon Stewart will appear on Monday’s “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” covering the Republican National Convention.

The story first appeared on Vulture.com with the outlet tipping off readers to make sure to be watching Monday’s Late Show. “The former host of The Daily Show will appear on Colbert’s CBS 11:35 p.m. program to help kick off two weeks of live editions timed to the Republican and Democratic National Conventions,” Vulture reported in an exclusive.

Before you get too excited, there are reports that the appearance could be just a cameo, perhaps along the lines of Stewart’s brief appearance on Colbert’s first show. Philly.com quotes “people familiar with the situation” as saying the former Daily Show Host will appear on the Late Show on Monday but only briefly, dispelling some of the excitement about a reported collaboration.

Stewart’s presence in late night television is greatly missed, particularly during an election year, particularly during an election year with Donald Trump facing off against Hillary Clinton in the Presidential race. Although Stewart retired from hosting The Daily Show, he is still in the late night game. He’s an executive producer of Colbert’s Late Show.
