Who is Hosting SNL Tonight: June 4, 2016

Saturday Night Live isn’t live tonight, but NBC will be airing a repeat of an episode from earlier this season hosted by Julia Louis Dreyfus. The episode originally aired on April 16, 2016. It was the 18th episode in season 41.
It was the third time hosting the show for Julia; she also hosted in 2006 and 2007. Julia Louis Dreyfus has a hat trick of hit comedy series under her belt now, but she got her television debut as a Saturday Night Live cast member back between 1982 and 1985. Although she didn’t make much of an impression during her time at SNL, it was during those years that she met Larry David, so it turned out to be a pretty fortuitous gig for the comedy star. After her gigantic run on Seinfeld, she later starred in The New Adventures of Old Christine, and now of course stars in HBO’s Veep.
It was a strong episode, well worth re-watching. Not only did Louis-Dreyfus really bring it, but she also attracted some special guest stars, and plenty of nods to her two biggest hit series, Seinfeld and Veep. The cold open brings back Larry David as Bernie Sanders, but with a slightly different twist involving a visit from someone he never knew- Elaine Benes. If you love having Larry blend his own personality with Sanders, you’ll really love bringing George into the mix.
Tony Hale drops in, and there are a bunch of great sketches, but keep your eye out for Julia’s “Pool Boy” sketch- undoubtably the show highlight. Musical guest Nick Jonas also makes an appearance in the sketch along with Pete Davidson.
Saturday Night Live returns live in the fall. The season concluded two weeks ago and the finale was hosted by Fred Armisen.
