Ariana Grande Hosting Saturday Night Live
Saturday Night Live is all new tonight, with a combination musical guest/host. Ariana Grande will be taking on the dual responsibility. This will be Grande’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live, although she did appear as a musical guest in September 2014, and made it into a sketch with a cameo as She-Ra in a bit called “He-Man and Lion-O.”
It’s somewhat of an exclusive club with somewhere around a dozen members who have pulled the double duty. Other past musical guests given the honor of serving double duty as host include Britney Spears, Mick Jagger, Paul Simon, Ray Charles, Blake Shelton, MC Hammer, Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and J-Lo among others.
Grande’s first album debuted at #1 on the charts in 2013, and her second album followed suit a year later. Her third album is due out later this spring, but she’s already released a hit single from the album, “Dangerous Woman.”
Watch the promos for this week’s SNL to see Taran Killam being just a tiny bit awkward around the pop superstar, with some coffee-themed puns, and a serenade. Oh and he’s tall. Very tall.
