Dice Did Stand Up Lying in a Pool of Blood on the Set of Vinyl

Bobby Cannavale Told a Lost Dice Joke on Late Night; Says Dice Did Stand Up on Set of Vinyl for the Crew
Andrew Dice Clay is a legend, and had many fans on the set of Vinyl including the crew, and Vinyl’s star Bobby Canavale. Dice plays a radio station owner who meets his demise in a very violent way in episode one. Last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Cannavale told Seth he was a huge fan of Dice’s growing up, and when he was 19 years old, he went to see Dice at Madison Square Garden. He remembered how gigantic of a night it was– Dice had in fact become the first comedian ever to sell out MSG.
Cannavale wasn’t the only Dice fan on the set of Vinyl. Bobby said the guys in the camera crew were giant fans would always ask ‘do you think he would ever do any of his jokes for us?’ They got their wish, Cannavale said, on a day that they were shooting some scenes that follow the brutal death of Dice’s character, Frank “Buck” Rogers. Dice had no lines that day, and basically had nothing to do but lie on the ground in a pool of blood, and Bobby remembers Dice saying “I’m gonna just lay here, cause my back hurts,” and then proceeding to do all his jokes from the 90’s, including the dirty nursery rhymes while lying in a pool of blood.

Bobby asked him if he had any jokes in the file that he never did on stage. Dice did have one cut joke he shared, and Cannavale performed it on Late Night.
“Doe, a deer, a female deer. Re, the deer that fucked do in the ass.”
