Paul Rodriguez Calls Will Smith an Asshole
Actor and musician Will Smith often comes up in the tabloids because of his unconditional parenting choices, but he is generally known as a likeable, friendly guy. Paul Rodriguez had a different experience with the “Fresh Prince”
Veteran comedian Rodriguez dropped his gloves on a recent radio interview and took aim at Ali star Will Smith. In an interview with San Diego radio station KIOZ Rodriguez said “I’d never work with him again, he was an a-hole” .
When pressed for more details, Rodriquez continued with “Muhammad Ali’s former physician Dr. Ferdie Pacheco — the man Rodriguez played on the big screen — was on set and “just drunk as a skunk. It escalated to the point where he started using the n-word to Will — and all this is true — and the police had to come escort him off the set,” Rodriguez claimed.
“So from then on, Will never looked at me the same,” he added. After that, the “Fresh Prince” star “started saying just really offensive stuff to me.”
Rodriguez didn’t provide specific examples, but he maintained that the personal verbal attacks were definitely unwarranted. “There was no cause to insult me or berate me,” he said.
When pressed to elaborate about why Smith, would have such a short fuse with Rodriquez, the comedian bemused “Maybe the steroids he was using to beef up?” he back peddled a bit, claiming never saw drugs at play and didn’t “know that for a fact but basically how does a guy… go from a skinny dude to a massive guy?”
