Comedy Pilgrimage! Stay in the Punxsutawney Inn
Bill Murray is fixing the economy one town at a time.
The Royal Victorian Manor in Woodstock, IL was the site of Punxsutawney’s Cherry Street Inn, the location for the classic Murray movie “Groundhog Day”. Every year people want to feel a bit of Murray themselves and head to the town. TMZ reports that the 5 bedroom B&B has been sold out for weeks and the owners hike up the prices by 15% to make a little bit of that extra something. Unfortunately Murray’s room isn’t the room from the movie because it was only used for the exterior shots, and you can’t visit Punxsutawney Phil, since he’s 9 hours away in Punxsutawney, PA, but you can step on a Bill Murray footprint on the spot where that pesky puddle he stepped in every day was!
