Metallica Lawyer Sends 41 Page Lawsuit To Fans

The cover band “Sandman” also known as “Canada’s Tribute To Metallica” received a 41 page lawsuit from the lawyers of favorite group. The letter goes on to talk about how successful Metallica is, that they own the name and trademark of “METALLICA” and that the stylized logo…ALSO theirs. Yeah, shut that cover band down now guys before they have that big pay day…of two 12 packs and parking validation. Glad to see Metallica is still keeping the fight alive, even if it is just against more of their fans.

Update: According to Rolling Stone the band has rescinded the lawsuit, and claims they had no idea their lawyer had filed it.  They told Rolling Stone “Sandman should file the letter in the trash. Keep doing what you’re doing … we totally support you! And in the meantime, our attorney can be found at SFO catching a flight to go permanently ice fishing in Alaska.”
