Melissa Mathison Dies At Age 65

Melissa Mathison, who was the woman who penned the Steven Spielberg 1982 classic “E.T. Extra Terrestrial” has died in Los Angeles. Other notable movies she wrote were The Indian in the Cupboard (1995) and The Escape Artist (1982). Spielberg said in a statement “Melissa had a heart that shined with generosity and love and burned as bright as the heart she gave ET.” She was also the former wife of Harrison Ford. She was 65.
