Lenny Dykstra, former centerfielder for the Mets and Phils, told Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd that he used to hire private dicks to find scandalous secrets about umpires. He would then mention these dirty details, ranging from infidelity to homosexuality to gambling, in hopes of shrinking the strike zone. Did it work? Well, his total number of walks in 1993 tripled those from 1992.
