Tracy Morgan tweeted about his return to the stage last night at New York City’s infamous Comedy Cellar. He wrote “My first time on stage in 16 Months at the #ComedyCellar! Picking up the pieces!”

It’s another first in a list of firsts for the comedian who suffered severe injuries after a Walmart truck smashed into the vehicle Tracy was riding in last summer. His first interview was with the Today Show in May, his first stage appearance telling a joke was at the Emmys last month, and last night was his first time performing live stand up.

Vanessa Golembewski from Refinery 29 was there. She was in the cafe above the Cellar when she heard Tracy come in the rear entrance followed by a roar from the crowd downstairs. She had been waiting to meet Judah Friedlander to interview him about his new book (which comes out October 20). “I’m hosting SNL this week,” Morgan said on stage. Golembewski said he made jokes about speech therapy, and joked about the accident as well, after coughing saying ‘that’s from the accident’ and then adding that it might also be from smoking pot. After his set he saw his old 30 Rock co-star Judah Friedlander and went up to him saying “T Money’s back!” Golembewski described the moment as triumphant as he said to Judah, “Did you see me out there?” They took a photo which Judah tweeted with the caption “T Money is back!!!!!!!!!”

He also did a set at New York City’s The Stand comedy club.  The Stand tweeted out a photo of Morgan performing Monday night.

Morgan will have another first since this accident this Saturday when he hosts Saturday Night Live this Saturday, October 17th.
