Robert De Niro Teaches the Difference Between Comedy and Drama, and Tells a Fart Joke

Last night, Robert De Niro told a fart joke on Late Night with Seth Meyers, but before he did that, he and Seth did a sketch together. Well, it was more bit than sketch. De Niro said he was going to help teach the audience the difference between dramatic acting and comedic acting. Seth fed De Niro three different lines, and asked De Niro to give them dramatic reads, and comedic reads so everyone could see the difference. Of course the bit was that he gave both lines the exact same read.

The occasion that brought rise to the bit, is that De Niro has a brand new comedy out in theaters right now. In ‘The Intern’ De Niro stars as a 70 year old who after retirement, gets a job as an intern for a fashion web site. He co-stars with Anne Hathaway.

De Niro has starred in over 90 films, many of them considered masterpieces. He’s one two Oscars, and was nominated for seven, but has never been nominated for a fart joke. Maybe this year, all of that will change.
