Frontline: 96% Of Deceased NFLers Examined Had CTE

The Boston University group who’s mostly been in the center of the gridiron concussion debate released new statistics this week. Out of the 91 deceased NFL players they’ve studied, 87 had some form of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the degenerative brain condition that’s believed to come from repeated trauma to the head. That’s 96%, and when subjects from high school, college, and semi-pro leagues are included, it’s still a staggering 79%.

The NFL has declined comment until it can figure out how many of these players used a deflated football.
