Amy Schumer to Headline Madison Square Garden
This week Amy Schumer opened for Madonna at Madison Square Garden and had the time of her life. She did so great that she’ll be back, but without Madonna next time. On June 23, 2016 Amy Schumer will join a short but growing list of great comedians who have headlined Madison Square Garden. No matter how much that list grows, though, she’ll forever be the first female comedian to headline the arena.

This is just the latest in an impressive year for Schumer, which kicked off back in April with Schumer hosting the MTV movie awards. Season Three of her Comedy Central Show Inside Amy Schumer was a huge hit this year (and the show has already won its first Emmy for best song), Schumer wrote and starred in her first movie, she’s rubbing elbows with celebrities all over the place, appearing on magazine covers, showing up on red carpets, she headlined the historic Apollo Theater in Harlem for a new hour special, danced on Billy Joel’s piano, and got spanked by Madonna.
