Coroner: Ronnie Montrose Suicide

A sad story gets a little sadder. The Coroner ruled that legendary guitar player Ronnie Montrose decided to end his own life and the reasons are ones he thought best to keep private. The family had known that it was a gunshot wound that killed him but in a statement said, “By now, the devastating truth of Ronnie’s death is public knowledge. We hope you can understand why we wanted to keep this news a private family matter for as long as possible. We can only hope that you will choose to celebrate Ronnie’s life, and what his music meant to you, rather than mourn his passing.” Leighsa Montrose says her husband left no suicide note. She says she was bewildered by his decision to take his life.
