Iron Maiden Dedicates New Song To Robin Williams
It’s not often that you’ll see Iron Maiden show up in the comedy news, but today is that day.
Just two weeks after the anniversary of Robin Williams’ tragic death, fans continue to honor the comedy legend. Tributes continue to come from the worlds of comedy, film, and music, and now heavy metal is weighing in with their own homage. Heavy metal band Iron Maiden is releasing their first album in five years, The Book of Souls next month and frontman Bruce Dickinson let fans know that his favorite song on the album is a song he didn’t even write. The track, “Tears of a Clown” discusses Robin Williams and his life and passing. Dickison said that he asks himself, ‘How could he be so depressed when he always seemed to be so happy?’
The Book of Souls and the Robin Williams track, ‘Tears of a Clown’ will be available on September 4.
