Oregon Ducks Call Cops On TV Announcers Over Practice

According to CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, on-air talent from the Pac-12 Network were involved in an incident while at the University of Oregon last week. Apparently a group of broadcasters (which included analyst Chris Conway) were climbing a stairway to a production truck when they were stopped by a security guard because they might have been able to see the practice field.

According to Dodd, a “standoff” occurred which resulted in multiple police officers being called to the scene.
This report followed a week that saw Alabama ban media from describing practices to avoid injury reports, and Tennessee close practices for the same reason. The week ended with Michigan holding an open practice for students, but with a ban on cell phones. That’s a lot of secrecy for an amateur sport played by college students.
