Jon Stewart says one of the greatest pleasures of having the Daily Show as a platform has been the ability to recommend books he loves and cares about to a large audience. Before his moment of Zen last night which is a fabulous Chris Christie death stare, Jon said he has one last book he wants to promote, by a great young author. “Do Onto Animals” written by his wife, Tracy Stewart, is all about our relationships with animals, and how to improve your relationship with the animals in your life. And if this isn’t the sweetest endorsement you’ve ever heard on television, we’d love to hear the one that’s better.

“I’m so proud of her. I’ve always known that my wife is a kinder and nicer person than I am. But to know that she is funnier and a better writer, I’m not going to lie to ya…stings a little bit.”

The book isn’t out yet, but when the book comes out, Stewart said, he won’t have a show anymore, and “holding it up at home isn’t going to do shit.”

All the proceeds go to Farm Sanctuary. Preorder now everywhere books are presold.
