French Comedian Debuting English Stand-Up Show In New York City

Gad Elmaleh, one of the most popular comedians in France, is coming to New York City. Gad will do a ten-night run at the legendary Joe’s Pub at The Public. Gad’s stint at Joe’s Pub will run from September 25 through October 7.
Gad has sold out shows across the United States previously, with spots in Los Angeles, Miami, and New York. In June, in what was billed as his last U.S. performance in French, Gad sold out the 3,000+ seats at the Beacon Theater. In recent years, Gad has been preparing his first stand-up show completely in English by throwing in a few English jokes in his French performances, but Americans have never seen him live do a full set speaking English.
“At some point you start to feel like you’ve done it all,” Gad said in a press release. “I’m so grateful to my thousands of French fans, but now I need to live a bit dangerously.”
Gad has appeared in Steven Speilberg’s The Adventures of Tintin as well as Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Known as “The French Jerry Seinfeld,” Gad was a guest on Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” web series.
Tickets for the shows are available online at www.joespub.com.
