President Wants Us To Stop Telling Prison Rape Jokes

It’s alway cool when government officials let us know what jokes we can tell. We all know that the worst thing about prison rape is the jokes.
For anyone who has had mild concerns when popular culture or the media or special interest groups say what is and isn’t okay to joke about, maybe now this one will resonate a little bit more.
Despite all the recent fun appearances President Obama has made, appearing to support comedy by hanging out on Comedy Bang Bang, and doing an interview with Marc Maron on his WTF Podcast, apparently he still wants to communicate to America that jokes are bad (mmmmmkay?). At a recent speech in front of the NAACP, President Obama suggested that telling jokes about prison rape is wrong.
“We should not tolerate conditions in prison that have no place in any civilized country,” the President said. “We should not be tolerating overcrowding in prison. We should not be tolerating gang activity in prison.” So far so good. Here comes the clincher. “We should not be tolerating rape in prison, and we shouldn’t be making jokes about it in our popular culture,” Obama said. “That is no joke. These things are unacceptable.”
Hear that comedians? The President said we shouldn’t joke about things that are unacceptable. Guess we all would have been better off if Hannibal had refrained from joking about Cosby. And all those other social problems that comedians joke about– stop it. Stop laughing.
