Stephen Colbert First Promo For The New Late Show Shows Real Beard Love
Stephen Colbert has been missing for quite some time. Following his departure from the Colbert Report on Comedy Central, most would say that Colbert has be M.I.A. since December. Well luckily for us and riding the wake of David Letterman’s Late Show finale, Stephen felt compelled to make the statement that HE IS ALIVE!
According to Colbert it’s time to go “cognito.” In his first promo for the Late Show, Colbert tries to reach out to millennials by shaving his facial hair. He says “CBS is forcing me to shave my beard because Tom Selleck’s mustache has a non-compete clause”. But while in the process of trimming his facial hair into standard, everyday cuts he takes time to reminisce over all the good times he and his beard shared. Stephen takes us through the four stages of beard: The not-Hitler, “There is nothing that people want more than not Hitler”; the Amish, which removed his mustache, “So long mustache, enjoy your rumspringa”; the Half-Wolverine; and finally the classic clean Colbert that we’ve all grown to love.
