Saint Colbert? Stephen Colbert Donates Over $800,000 to Public Schools

You know who really likes teachers? The new host of the Late Show on CBS. According to the Daily KOS, Stephen Colbert surprised teachers in his home state of South Carolina by fully funding every single existing grant request that SC public school teachers had posted on DonorsChoose.org. On the site, people can make donations to the projects they prefer. Apparently Stephen Colbert couldn’t choose and decided to fund them all which is 1000 in all.
When he’s not taking care of teachers’ needs in South Carolina, Stephen Colbert is preparing for his premiere as the new host of Late Show on CBS this September 8th after he takes over for David Letterman.
GreenvilleOnline posted video of Colbert making the announcement with South Carolina school superintendent Molly Spearman at Alexander Elementary School that he, along with ScanSource and Share Fair Nation, would fund all classroom projects S.C. teachers asked for help with on DonorsChoose.org.
