Eddie Murphy Is A Nutty Rich Rasta Man

Eddie Murphy has gone back to his entertainment roots and released a new video for his reggae single, “Oh Jah Jah” on YouTube. He even teased a new album if people respond to these sweet island sounds. Back in January when Eddie Murphy released the song, he said, “If people respond to [“Oh Jah Jah”], then I might. If people don’t, that shit will just stay on the shelf where it’s at. And I’m cool with that. I’m cool with all my shit being on the shelf until 100 years from now. Everything comes out 100 years from now.”
Even though fans haven’t heard him making music lately, Eddie says he always continued to write songs. According to Gothamist he said, “I’ve always done music. I’ve played guitar, piano and I write and produce and I was coming at music that way because I didn’t want to get thrown in a barrel with everybody else… I never ever left it alone, I just stopped letting y’all hear it.” It seems that’s all about to change though.”
Now he’s just following Snoop Lion’s lead with the foray into reggae. It’s time to cross all our fingers that this is just a precursor to a new comedy special, Eddie Murphy: Live From Montego Bay.
