Do All The Kevin James Jokes You Want, “Paul Blart” Did A Fat $24 Mill Opening
Okay, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” pulled a Bluto Blutarsky, a 0.0 on Rotten Tomatoes rating and fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son, but a 24 million weekend!? Second to only “Furious 7”!?
This was Kevin James’ best opening weekend since the original “Mall Cop”, not counting Adam Sandler’s “Grown Ups” movies. “Mall Cop 2” beat out other Kevin James starring films, “Here Comes the Boom”, “Zookeeper” and “The Dilemma”. Sony domestic distribution chief Rory Bruer was thrilled with the weekend draw. He told the Hollywood Reporter, “It’s a terrific win for us. This was a film that we all wanted to do and was made on a modest budget. Our underdog Blart is always determined to win, which he does.”
Sounds like they are talking about a “Paul Blart The Turd” already. Get it? “The Turd” instead of “The Third”!? Oh you did get it. You just didn’t like it.
