Free Range Parents Suing After They Had Their Children Taken Into Custody

washington-post-logoThe parents of a six and ten year old are suing after Maryland Child Protective Services took their children into custody after they were spotted walking home alone from a park. It’s not clear who’s being sued at this point, but someone is going to get served.

The kids were walking home around 5pm when they were reported to the police and three squad cars showed up to take them in. The children were detained until midnight. This is all well and good but we shouldn’t be calling this “free range” parenting. They’re children, not organic chickens.
