Billy Crystal Gives Letterman Musical Send Off

Who knew Billy Crystal and David Letterman were best friends!? Apparently Billy Crystal did. He made his final appearance on the Late Show on Tuesday to say goodbye to his good pal. Crystal was part of Letterman’s star-studded final line up of guests as he heads into his last month of shows. One thing that Billy Crystal specializes in is helping send late night talk show hosts into retirement. He did it for Leno twice, both times Jay said goodbye to the Tonight Show.

After a really quick montage of some of Crystal’s appearances over the years with Dave, he went into a musical tribute for the outgoing Late Show host. This combined another one of Billy Crystal’s specialties, being Jewish. He did a rendition of “Sunrise, Sunset” from “Fiddler on the Roof” as he sang his way through David Letterman’s career, including that ugly Leno controversy. This is what makes Billy Crystal a national treasure.
