Veep Creator Moving On

iannucciArmando Iannucci, who created the hit HBO series Veep, and has served as showrunner has decided to leave the series after four giant successful season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  Iannucci posted on his twitter that “‘Veep’ returns Sunday, HBO10.30pm.Our best season yet.Time for me to quit airports. I’m leaving on a high and kissing goodbye to jet-lag.” referring to his difficult commute back to London to spend time with his family.

David Mandel who has worked on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm and on Seinfeld will take over as showrunner for season five, assuming there is one.

An HBO rep told THR “Armando is not replaceable but we are confident that Veep will continue to be produced at the highest levels with new showrunner David Mandel. David has worked with HBO for many years as executive producer, writer and director for Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
