Instagram User Claims “Louie” Is Ripping Him Off
Instagram account My Day With Leo is claiming the account set up for “Louie” on FX is ripping his concept off. He places a cut out picture of a celebrities head over the body of someone standing in the street. Louie’s Instagram account is now doing the same gimmick to promote the new season.
Joel Strong who started the Instagram account in question told Gothamist, “The new Louie on FX ad campaign is a cheap knockoff of my work. Seeing as I’m a fan of Louis and he’s spoken out about joke stealing, I thought it interesting that they didn’t just ask me. I’d have done it cheap, too, because I’m a fan and I do things cheap for people I like. Is there much I can do about it? I dunno but I do think it’s bullshit and a lot of artists do, too.”
FX said they’re “looking into this”. This could bring down an entire TV network.
