Mike Myers and Dana Carvey Didn’t Rehearse Waynes World for SNL40

Last night Mike Myers told Dave Letterman that he never officially got invited to take part in the SNL40 celebration. In fact, he saw commercials saying he would be a part of the event before he even knew he was going.
The first official invite came via a phone call from Lorne about 10 days before the event asking if he was willing to write and perform a Wayne’s World sketch. Oh and there was no time to rehearse. “I was scared,” Mike said 10 seconds before they went on. He had never done anything without a rehearsal. “I’m 51 with two kids and I’m wearing a wig, am I an idiot?” he asked Dana right before they went live.
Needless to say, it went flawlessly.
