Paul Walker Joke Cut From Bieber Roast

Not every joke performed at the taping of the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber will make it into the final broadcast on Monday, March 30th. In particular are jokes about the late Paul Walker who was killed in violent car accident in 2013. Walker appears in his final film in the new “The Fast and The Furious” sequel “Furious 7” which opens next month.

In a reference to Justin Bieber’s less than stellar driving record, roaster Jeff Ross said during the evening, “‘Move bitch, get out of the way!’ is what Paul Walker should’ve told that tree. Too soon? Too fast? Too furious?”

A spokesperson for Comedy Central told the Hollywood Reporter that joke will be edited out for the broadcast of the roast. “Roasts often push the limits of good taste and we give the participants full rein to try things knowing we have the edit to shape the show. Sometimes the line is discovered by crossing it. The Paul Walker references will not be in the telecast.”

Ludacris who was on the dais as a guest roaster was reportedly furious over the comments. He co-starred with Paul Walker in the “The Fast and The Furious” movies. Jeffrey Ross was asked by THR is he thought the joke violated any boundaries. He said, “I was so in the moment, I don’t know what jokes hit.”

The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber airs Monday, March 30th at 10pm et.
