Robert Smigel Explains Jack and Triumph to Seth Meyers
Robert Smigel is the mind and voice behind one of the greatest puppets that ever came to life on someone’s hand– Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. Now Triumph has his own tv show, The Jack and Triumph Show on Adult Swim and Smigel explained the premise to Seth and his audience last night.
Triumph is not actually playing himself in the show, he’s playing a fictional version of himself, named “Triumph Nadler.” In the show, character Jack is a washed up child star, and character Triumph, is his washed up child star dog. They had a big hit tv show together when Jack and Triumph were young. Now Triumph schemes to try to get attention back on them, and in this week’s episode, Triumph tries to get sweet Jack to say something racist.
