Great News, Man Seeking Woman Renewed on FXX, Enthusiastically

FXX is giving the surreal dating comedy series “Man Seeking Woman” a second season and deservedly so. The highly original series stars Jay Baruchel as Josh who is trying to get himself reestablished in the dating world after a rough break up. He has to go through one night stands, bad blind dates and other awkward moments that turn into fantasy scenes including trolls, space aliens, demons and other monsters. The concept could have very easily bombed, but Simon Rich and his creative team pulls off the fantasy element flawlessly.
“Man Seeking Woman” is based on creator and former Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich’s book “The Last Girlfriend on Earth”.
Not only did the network renew “Man Seeking Woman” for a second season, it sang its praises as well, saying, “Simon Rich has delivered an incredibly smart and original take on the search for love. Critics and fans alike have embraced his unique storytelling, [EP] Jon Krisel’s stunning visuals and the brilliant performances of Jay Baruchel, Eric André and the rest of the cast that has made Man Seeking Woman one of the best new comedies on television.”
Simon Rich returned the compliment saying, “Working on Man Seeking Woman has been the creative highlight of my life. FXX gave us the freedom to make the show we love and they let us build some truly disgusting monsters. I’m so grateful to John Landgraf and his team for believing in us and I can’t wait to get back to work.”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Man Seeking Woman” is scheduled to return to FXX in 2016.
