NBC Looking At Pot Comedy
NBC is getting into the weed business. The network has given a script commitment to Parks and Rec’s Adam Scott’s production company for a new comedy which brings Colorado’s recreational marijuana law into network comedy. The new sitcom “Buds” focuses on the every day operations of a Denver pot dispensary according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The script is being produced by Adam Scott and his wife Naomi Scott and is being written by former Parks and Recreation writer, comedian Joe Mande who will also be an executive producer on the project. Parks and Recreation wraps up with the series finale on Tuesday, February 24th.
It hasn’t been confirmed that the original working title of producer Adam Scott’s new comedy was “Parks and Recreational Marijuana”.
