NBC is live for 4 1/2 hours on Sunday night for the Saturday Night Live 40th anniversary special and red carpet arrival show. The combination of live TV, a show filled with comedians and a network with a suspended anchorman can lead to an awkward moment. That’s what happened with the Today Show’s Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie during their pre-show interview with Jim Carrey and Tina Fey.
As Matt and Savannah were wrapping up the interview when Jim Carrey asked “Where are you hiding Brian Williams?”. One of the best parts is Tina Fey’s reaction of acting like she’s not with this man who just brought up one the most embarrassing moments in NBC’s 76 year television history.
