Tenacious D Takes Home The Grammy For Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance


Congratulations to the Pick of Destiny. Tenacious D has walked away from the 57th annual Grammy Awards a winner. The metal duo made up of Jack Black and Kyle Gass took home the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock / Metal Performance. They won for their cover of Dio‘s ‘The Last in Line’ from the ‘This Is Your Life’ Dio tribute album.
Tenacious D took on the best in metal to win the Grammy Award including fellow nominees, Anthrax, Mastodon, Motorhead and Slipknot.
Jack Black told Blabbermouth.net, “Dio was the master. He was the Pavarotti of heavy metal vocalists. [He had] soaring melodies and a lion’s roar to match. He was also one of the coolest guys I’ve ever had the honor of meeting. No one could touch his brilliance… on or off the stage.”
