Everyone Is Getting “Transparent” For Free!

Amazon Studios is still giddy over its big night at the Golden Globes, so they’re offering every episode of the Golden Globe winning series “Transparent” for free! So if you don’t have Amazon Prime but really want to know why everyone’s talking about Jeffrey Tambor in “Transparent”, clear out your weekend for some good binge watching.
“Transparent” won Best TV Comedy or Musical Series at the Globes, beating out nominees from cable, broadcast and online. Including “Girls” on HBO, “Jane the Virgin” on the CW, “Orange Is the New Black” on Netflix and “Silicon Valley”, also from HBO. Jeffrey Tambor who stars on “Transparent” took home the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Comedy or Musical Series over some extremely tough and talented competition from Louis CK for “Louie”, Don Cheadle for “House of Lies”, Ricky Gervais for “Derek” and William H. Macy, for “Shameless”.
So now this Saturday, January 24th, it’s a binge watching holiday with all 10 episodes of “Transparent” available for free. The series is usually only available to Amazon Prime members. Amazon is also extending its Golden Globe fever to a special offer for Prime membership. Also on Saturday, viewers can sign up for Amazon Prime for just $72. (That’s because it was the “72nd” Golden Globe Awards where Amazon picked up its first comedy trophies).
The series co-stars Amy Landecker, Jay Duplass, Gaby Hoffmann and Judith Light. It revolves around Tambor as Maura Pfefferman who was born Mort Pfefferman and is now transitioning to a woman. The half hour series focuses on the obstacles the family faces during this new development. Once Maura’s secret is revealed, the Pfefferman floodgates are open.
