Nic Cage And Larry Charles Team Up For Osama bin Laden Comedy
Nicolas Cage is going after Osama bin Laden with some help from Larry Charles. He’ll star as Gary Faulkner, a real-life construction worker from Colorado who tried to get into Pakistan and Afghanistan on numerous occasions trying to find Osama bin Laden.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new comedy “Army of One” will be directed by Larry Charles and produced by Harvey and Bob Weinstein of the Weinstein Company. Larry Charles known for directing episodes of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” has also directed the Sacha Baron Cohen films, “The Dictator” and “Bruno”. Charles is also currently working on the new FX series he created, “The Comedians” starring Billy Crystal and Josh Gad.
“Army of One” hasn’t cast its Osama bin Laden yet. Filming is scheduled to start in March.
This will be Cage’s long await return to doing a comedy that’s SUPPOSED to be comedy.
