Seattle Seahawks Won The “Dumb MLK Tweet” Lottery
With corporate America’s obsession over brand synergy, dates like Memorial Day, 9/11, and Martin Luther King Day are land mines for controversy, as Patton Oswalt points out.

There were some lesser-known contenders, but the poster boy for this year wound up being your NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks. Because when you think about Dr. King’s crusade for peace and equality, one that continues to this day, you automatically think of that 4th quarter comeback over the Packers.

The tweet was deleted within half an hour, and the team was quickly “sorry, so sorry.” But luckily, the world wide web preserves all things for internet outrage. Yay, corporate brand synergy!
We apologize for poor judgment shown in a tweet sent earlier. We did not intend to compare football to the civil rights legacy of Dr. King.
