It would take a lot for Jim Gray to have a more awkward sports interview than the one he had with Pete Rose at the ’99 World Series, but he’s trying. Gray jumped in the ring for a post fight talk with boxer Fidel Maldonado and calls in his trainer to translate. The trainer explains that’s not necessary. After all, Maldonado was born and raised in Albuquerque. “Congratulations on the muy bueno match you had!! Sí Señor?”
