AFC Wimbledon Striker Is A Big Sumb*tch
League Two side AFC Wimbledon hosted Liverpool in a 3rd Round FA Cup match on Monday, and despite scoring two goals, MLS-bound Steven Gerrard was not the star. It was Wimbledon’s Adebayo Akinfenwa, affectionally nicknamed “The Beast.” In a world of slender strikers, this 5’11”, 189-pound forward (over 220 a few years back) can bench-press 180kg (395 lbs.). The 32-year-old from Islington even has his own clothing line, Beast Mode On. And he can score goals. In fact, he scored the only goal in Wimbledon’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool. The childhood Reds fan wound up getting Gerrard’s shirt at the end of the night as well.
