“Selma” Lies About LBJ

The new Martin Luther King Jr. film “Selma” is running into some historical controversy over its treatment of President Lyndon Johnson. Historians and members of Johnson’s administration are taking issue with things like the President trying to stop Dr. King’s marches and putting the FBI on him, things they claim didn’t happen.
Since Martin Luther King’s life wasn’t dramatic enough, Hollywood needed to turn LBJ into Dr. Evil.
