Scalper Wants A $650 Refund On “The Interview” Tix

the interview

With all the controversy surrounding “The Interview” leading up to only 300 theaters around the country planning to screen it on Christmas Day, an Ohio man thought he had the system beat. Jason Best bought 50 tickets for showings at the Esquire Theatre in Clifton. He spent $650 on tickets thinking he could scalp them online and get his money back and make a profit.

His plan went horribly wrong when Sony released the movie on streaming services. According to WCPO in Cincinnati, when he realized there wasn’t a market for his tickets, Best tried to take them back to theater. The theater said sorry pal, no refunds, claiming the screening was a special event and because Best was a scalper or “businessman” and not a customer. Best said he didn’t know it was a special event and that the movie theater does have a guarantee policy that he should be able to take advantage of.

Sure, because if there is anything you can expect as a scalper, it’s a guarantee!
