Amy Schumer Hosting The 2015 MTV Movie Awards
Awards season is coming up. The Oscars have Neil Patrick Harris hosting. The Golden Globes have Tina Fey and Amy Poehler coming back. And now according to Variety, the MTV Movie Awards have selected their host. Amy Schumer also made the announcement on Twitter that she will be hosting the 2015 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 12th, 2015. Through MTV, Amy said, “I am honored to be hosting the awards. I will carry the audience with me like a teen mom #breaktheinternet #breakmywater.”
MTV President Stephen Friedman said, “Wickedly funny and sharply insightful, Amy Schumer is perhaps the most ascendant talent in comedy today, and she’s on the brink of an epic year. We are thrilled to work with Amy to create an unpredictable and hilarious showcase for Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters and brightest stars in what promises to be the most combustible Movie Awards ever.”
Amy Schumer’s “epic year” includes the third season of her Comedy Central series, “Inside Amy Schumer” returning next April. She’ll also star in the Judd Apatow comedy she wrote called “Trainwreck,” which will be out in July, 2015. The movie co-stars Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, Vanessa Bayer, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James and John Cena.
