Mick Foley Tells Jon Stewart About Being Santa Claus
Former wrestler Mick Foley has spent the last year dressed in Santa Clause themed attire for his documentary, “I Am Santa Claus.” Last night he hung out with Jon Stewart to talk about the documentary, which documents Santas everywhere. Foley is a Christmas fanatic, with a year round Christmas room. He’s living the Santa life, and Jon Stewart isn’t entirely sure if he thinks this is amazing, or just a tiny bit too odd. Mick revealed a lot of things you might not have known, like his beard is bleached white underneath that dye job, he’s walking around in Santa boots, and he placed second in a fruit cake eating contest in Santa Clause, Indiana, (but he cheated, and was disqualified for hiding chunks of fruitcake). Last night he went out to a Santa singing gig with Norah Jones and others.
While working on the documentary, Mick Foley discovered that there are a lot of angry Santas out there, and not all the Santas are happy with Mick’s presence in their world. Apparently Santas are very protective of their reputation and how they are represented on screen. But Mick is committed to bringing people a “deeper appreciation for the men who wear the red suit.”
“I Am Santa Claus” is available on Netflix, iTunes, Amazon and other digital download platforms.
