Letterman Announces Last “Late Show”
The countdown is officially on. CBS and David Letterman’s production company Worldwide Pants announced that his last episode of the Late Show will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015. This will end his 32 year plus run as a late night talk host.
Dave announced his retirement back in April and Stephen Colbert was chosen as his successor a couple of weeks later, but no end date had been announced until now.
CBS President and CEO Les Moonves said in the statement, “David Letterman has given to all of us a remarkable legacy of achievement and creative brilliance that will never be forgotten. It’s going to be tough to say goodbye, but I know we will all cherish the shows leading up to Dave’s final broadcast in May.”
The next step for CBS is announcing Colbert’s start date which obviously will come after his long Winter’s nap.
