Martin And Lewis DVD Sets Released
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis were rock stars before rock n roll was invented.They reigned as the biggest comedy team in America and then like the Beatles broke up at their peak. According to the LA Times, Warner Archive recently released several of their comedies on two DVD sets.
“The Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis Collection: Volume One” includes their very first film together “My Friend Irma” from 1949, plus the sequel “My Friend Irma Goes West” which came out the next year. Also there’s “That’s My Boy” (1951), three films from 1952, “Sailor Beware”, “Jumping Jacks” and “The Stooge” and 1953’s “Scared Stiff” and “The Caddy”.
Volume Two offers films from towards the end of their partnership, including “Living It Up” (1954), “You’re Never Too Young” (1955), “Artists and Models” (1955), “Pardners” (1956) and their final film they made together, “Hollywood or Bust” from 1956.
